Severed Angel, Carnal Desire, Severed Justice & Carnal Persuasion (Severd MC) K.T Fisher and Ava Manello

I met lovely Ava Manello at a recent author event and as promised I went away an read the MC books. I like bikers, a lot (my other half is one!) and I thought what's the worst that could happen..........

Severed Angel

Eve lived a very boring, very vanilla life with her boyfriend and two year old daughter.

After the douchebag left her, leaving her a penniless single mum, her best friends wedding in Australia came at just the right time. She's missed her childhood friend, Teresa moved to the Aussie sun with her widowed father when the girls were 18, meeting her biker lover out there and now Eve is set to be her Maid of Honor.

Instead of having the much needed break she's looking for, she witnesses a crime that puts her life in danger. Her dream vacation just turned into a nightmare, something she has only read about in the books she loves to escape in.

Being rescued by Severed MC turns out to be an experience. The clubs VP Gabe aka Angel, could be just the diversion she needs right now but, no matter how hot the tattooed biker is in and out of bed, she still misses her daughter back in England.

Carnal Desire

Continuing Angel and Eve's story from Severed Angel.

Eve returns home unaware danger is hot on her heels. Will Satan get the revenge he seeks, will Angel save the woman he loves or will Ink get the woman he deserves.

The nail biting conclusion to the story that crosses two continents...

Severed Justice

Your favorite Severed MC returns with more chaos, more danger and more fireworks.

Satan may be gone but the danger isn't.

With revenge on the cards from more than one player and hot blooded new comer Justice stirring things up, the people in the town of Severed are in for one hell of a ride

Carnal Persuasion

The fourth instalment in the Severed MC series finds Cowboy wrestling with his demons. Can he go on, or is he too broken after everything he's endured?

Meanwhile the citizens of Severed are caught up in a war, and it's down to Severed MC to try and save them.

This book is going to blow your mind.

Beauty From Pain, Beauty From Surender, Beauty From Love - Georgia Cates

So this is one of the older series off my Kindle. In fact I've been meaning to review it for ages. I'd not long since got the kindle before I'd stumbled on to this beauty of a series.

So apologies Georgia for not getting this review on sooner!

Beauty From Pain

They agreed on three months...but their love knew no boundaries.

Jack McLachlan is a winemaking magnate and easily one of Australia's most eligible bachelors. His success and wealth makes him no stranger to the complications of romantic relationships and that's why he goes to extreme measures to avoid the hassle. He prefers simplicity in the form of a beautiful female companion with no strings attached. He arranges relationships like business deals and they're always the same. No long term relationships. No real names.

It's his game and his rules. He's content to play as usual, but when Laurelyn Prescott enters his life, his strategy must change because this player is like none he's ever encountered. His world is turned on its head after he begins a three month affair with the beautiful American musician. Nothing goes according to plan and as he breaks more and more of his own rules for her, she's exceptionally close to becoming something he never thought possible. His ultimate game changer.

Beauty From Surrender

How do you move on when he’s every song you sing?

After Laurelyn Prescott walks away from the love of her life, she returns to Nashville to pursue the only dream she has left. Determined to find a distraction from the pain of losing Jack Henry, she immerses herself in her music. But with her old life comes old acquaintances and new expectations. When Laurelyn refuses her record producer’s outrageous demands, she finds herself without a career—until an unforeseen opportunity presents itself. From there it’s a rocket ride straight to the top where Laurelyn finds the success she’s always dreamed of. Will it be enough to bring her the happiness she so deserves, or will the absence of Jack Henry leave her wanting more?

Jack Henry McLachlan never expected to fall in love with Laurelyn Prescott—but he did. After he foolishly let her slip through his fingers, he spends three months searching for her, but their reunion doesn’t come easy. The woman he finds isn’t the same one who drifted away without a goodbye. No longer an insecure girl on an Australian adventure, this Laurelyn is a successful musician with a promising career. Her dreams are becoming a reality, and Jack is terrified his American girl won’t have a place for him in her new life. With only a month to convince her otherwise, will it be enough time to make her visualize a life beyond the glitz and glamour, a life that includes him?

Beauty From Love

The epic romance between an all-American beauty and her Aussie continues in this final installment of The Beauty Series.

Jack McLachlan is fulfilled by more than he dared to dream possible. He finds everything he never knew he wanted—or needed—in Laurelyn Prescott, his last and final companion. Life is beautiful with his beloved by his side but their post-wedded bliss is cut short when his dark past springs into their present happiness. He wants to shelter Laurelyn but keeping her untainted by his previous life proves impossible when yesterday’s sins insist on returning to haunt him. Will it be possible for them to find happiness in their forever with a past like his?

Rachel's Review

I loved this series. It surprised me actually because I certainly have my own view on where I thought each book would go (which it didn't).

I saw this GIF on good reads about cliffhangers once and I felt it prudent to show it to you guys as an example of how I felt after the first book.

description

In fact Id like to extend the above feelings to all cliffhangers! K Bromberg's was the worst after the second Driven book. I called the other half the minute I finished it. That was about a year ago I think. He's still recovering from PTSD after my tirade. Anyway I digress.............

I loved the characters, I thought they were well written and I, for once didn't think the female lead was a wimpy girly girl.

Nice to see a book with straight up sex and no kinky fuckery. Don't get me wrong I lurve the kinky fuckery, just nice to see a book with out it for once.

I great read and one that has stayed with me since I read it.

Whiter Than White - GG Carver

Got to love GG Carver. Again another author I heard of through the Peterborough book signing event March 2015.

This is me meeting him! EEEK!!!

I'm loving meeting all of these authors these days. Think I need to get my booty across the pond to some American book signings though.

You need to check out his facebook page just to see pictures of Carver Jr his gorgeous little puppy dog. Next time I'm at an author event Carver Jr is getting presents!

White than White

Life is a rat race, and Elena White is stuck on the treadmill. She's been living on autopilot, a slave to the 9-5 routine - until a chance meeting with an old school friend serves as the catalyst that changes Elena's life in a way she could never have imagined.

Dazzled by her friends self assured confidence, Elena makes an innocent attempt to break from the monotony, and the repercussions send her on a roller coaster of emotions, smashing predictability to pieces, leaving her life anything but predictable.

Rachels' Review

I was really impressed by this book. I don't often gel with male written books so I was pleasantly surprised. GG now makes it into the short list of 2 male romance/erotic writers that I actually like :)

I remember reading a good reads review about it 7 months ago and it saying it was a 'romance story with a kick'. Boy did they get that right.

Its a great story that has fabulous storyline and amazing characters. GG can certainly write a good sex scene. I also love that these characters converse outside of the bedroom, some writers can forget about that and focus solely on the sex.

I loved the twists and turns in this book and so not the normal boy meets girl storyline. Very much the page turner. In fact so much so I do remember looking at the clock at 1am and thinking "Shit! The boy (my 3 year old) will be up in 5 hours" That was certainly an unproductive day at work the day after!

In summary if you don't read it, you're missing out!

Three, Two, One (321): (A Dark Suspense)

Julie freaking Huss. Gotta love this woman people. She earned herself a devotion page recently. I have authors I love and no matter what people say I will always read their work. JAH is one of them.

I'd seen all of the promo stuff about this book and so I was really looking forward to reading this on release day.

Three, Two, One

ONE GIRL
Battered, barefoot, and huddled under a bookstore awning in the pouring rain, Blue only knows one thing. After fifteen months of captivity, finally... she is free.

TWO FRIENDS
Self-made millionaires JD and Ark are not out to save anyone when they stumble upon a wet and shivering girl one early Sunday morning. But when you sell sex for a living and salvation rings your bell... you answer the call.

THREE SOULMATES

After years of searching, love lifts the veil of darkness, and three people--with three very big secrets--find themselves bound together in a relationship that defies the odds.

Or does it?

Love. Lust. Sex.

This trinity might be perfection... but not everything should come in 3's.

Rachel's Review

Okay, so I'm a little late to the plate with getting my review out but who cares? I'm posting it anyway.

I had issues at the start of this book. I just wasn't getting it. I thought I must have been sipping the idiot juice to not like a JA Huss book. But as I warmed to the characters I started to love it and couldn't put it down.

I'm all for dark erotica. I don't read a lot of it and I don't normally actively seek it out. I've also read some M/F/M books before but certainly not like this. Julie's brain must have had fun writing this book. In case you haven't cottoned on its a filthy dirty steamy book also :-)

Dirty...

Its complex, dirty, passionate, different and overall a really good read. Actually, I'd like to add emotional on to that list also. In fact emotional roller-coaster should be used.

A Fine Profession & A Fine Pursuit (Chambermaid Series) - Sarah Michelle Lynch

After purchasing tickets to the March 2014 Orchard Book Club Author Event I picked some authors at random to read and get to know,

This first one I randomly chose was Sarah Michelle Lynch,

I am so damn well pleased I picked her books up and read them. I even now possess a shiny new and SIGNED copy of A fine Pursuit. (waves hands in the air!).

Her books are amazing and she's the loveliest lady ever in real life. Im looking forward to reading and reviewing her other books in the future.

A Fine Profession Synopsis

Charlotte “Lottie” Taylor survived childhood cancer and then spent years feeling at odds with who she was and where her life was heading. A chambermaid at a run-of-the-mill hotel chain, she found escape in her imagination and eventually discovered expression in a sideline dominating men.

She spent nights disciplining her “initiates” and delivering a service their wives often ordered on their behalf. What she didn’t expect was to fall in love when a chance encounter put her in the arms of Noah Yeardley, a man with a history as interesting as her own. The only man to ever dominate Lottie, together they explored their fantasies.

Yet the fantasy broke down and Lottie was forced to revisit past issues.

Charlotte’s erotic tale is one of sexual awakening and self fulfilment—a human story of making mistakes, learning to love yourself and finding true love with another.

When he is presented with a second chance, a long summer of hot dream dates, devastating confessions and shocking revelations await – but is the fantasy about to become a reality, or will Noah's past make it impossible for him to forge a new life with Charlotte?

Rachel's Review

Honestly? I loved these books. (At the afore mentioned Author Event I made a beeline to Sarah's table to tell her so!)

These are not your standard erotica books. They've got a superb and thought provoking story lines.

I loved both central characters very much and the books explore both their personalities in ways no other erotic book would.

The writing is fantastic and great detail was paid to each character, even the sub characters. I love that A Fine Profession was written from Charlotte's POV and A Fine Pursuit from Noah's. (PS There's nothing I've said there that isn't in the synopsis so no spoiler).

I also loved that these books were local to me, In fact I'm just 6 miles from the village the character grew up in and drive through it regularly.

A shocking, fabulous, different (very), well-written and addictive read.

Looking forward to reading more from SML.

Hush Hush - Annelise Vandell #1

Good afternoon folks. After attending an author event in Peterborough, UK this weekend and connecting with authors and other bloggers, I've realised I really need to set aside extra time on my blog.

It's already had a redesign recently and an extra page added so I need to find extra time in my hectic life to post more reviews.

Anyway.... Next book up is Hush Hush by Anneliese Vandell. Another author requested read for an honest review.

Hush Hush

 Synopsis

Something terrible happened to April Morrison when she was eleven years old. When she returns home to New Orleans fourteen years later as “Sophia,” she has only one word on her mind: revenge. She’s got her eye on Charles and Barbara Hawthorne, the crowning jewel of New Orleans’ elite and the ones responsible for turning her life upside down.

Enter Liam Hawthorne, the couple’s successful, strikingly handsome, and irresistibly dominant thirty-two year old son. When Liam makes a provocative proposal, it occurs to April that he may be just the “in” she needs. But what she doesn't bargain for is Liam's insatiable—and thrilling—sexual appetite. And as Liam begins to test April’s limits, she realizes that appearances are not what they seem.

Rachel's Review

This is such a hard review to write. I both liked the book and felt annoyed at the same time.

I loved the premise of the book. I always love a good revenge storyline, I was well thought out and I will read the next one when its out. The storyline did grab me and now I NEED to know what happens.

I felt annoyed at the length on the book, I felt it was too short, but i think this is mainly because I wanted to know what happens. I also didn't like the main female character. I don't know why she grates on me, maybe she's too naive and immature for my liking.

Don't get me wrong this is a good book and I'd recommend it, it just niggled at me a little.
