Rachel's review

Normally I don't mind a novella every now and then but I felt like this story moved too quickly for me. Don't get me wrong the story was cute and I love an alpha as much as the next girl, but I felt it was just trying to fit too much in to a small book.

 Excerpt

Aiden had known the second he laid his eyes on that spectacular hourglass figure of hers that he wanted her. Of course he had. A man would have to be dead not to want to spend time between those gorgeous thighs, worshiping at those fantastic breasts while he fucked into what he’d bet was the tightest pussy in creation. Yes, his cock had screamed ‘MINE!’ the moment his gaze settled on her fine little body. But the second she’d turned and he’d seen her exquisite face for the first time… yeah, he’d been done. He’d known that woman would hold him – heart, mind, body, and soul.
There’d been no question at all.
He was claiming sweet Carolina for his own.

Jana Aston - Wrong, Right, Fling and Trust

I'd actually read Wrong when it very first came out and I've had the rest on my TBR (which is huge) for ages. So here goes......

Wrong

I have a history of picking the wrong guy. Gay? Player? Momma’s boy? Check, check and check.

Now I can’t stop fantasizing about one of the customers at the coffee shop I work at between classes. It’s just a harmless crush, right? It’s not like I ever see this guy outside of the coffee shop. It’s not like I’m going to see him while attempting to get birth control at the student clinic. While wearing a paper gown. While sitting on an exam table. Because he’s the doctor. Shoot. Me.

But what if, for once, the man I’ve had the dirtiest, most scandalous fantasies about turned out to be everything but wrong?

Right

My childhood was perfect.

I’ve led a charmed life, and I’m not going to blow it now by picking the wrong guy.

I’ve got my sights set on my brother’s best friend.
He’s known my family for years. He’s reliable and kind and handsome.

Sure, he’s been avoiding me since I was six.
I’m a bit aggressive for him, maybe.

But he’s the one… right?

Fling

I have a crush on my boss’ best friend.
At least it’s not my brother’s best friend.
Or my best friend’s brother.
Or… never mind. It’s all pretty cliche.

And worse? My boss’ best friend is his business partner.
Which sort of makes him my boss too.
Okay - it’s not sort of. It’s definite. Gabe Laurent is off limits. Totally off limits.

Which is fine. I make do with my imagination. He’ll never know. Ever.
Unless my work bestie passes me an eighties-style teen movie sex quiz
during a meeting and I fill it out.

And it ends up in Gabe’s hands…

Trust

“Knock knock!”
“Um… Who’s there?”

Yeah. That was me, on my last date. Before you feel sorry for me
you should know that I was the one telling the jokes. Jokes as in
plural, because I didn’t stop with just one. Of course not.

Hi, I’m Chloe Scott. The most awkward single girl in the city.
But I’m going to get it together. I am.

I’m going to learn how to date like a grown up.
I’m going to have an orgasm not given to myself.
I’m going to fall in love and live happily ever after.

Right after I get out of this interrogation room.

Rachel's Review

I loved Wrong. Totally loved it. I have my very own signed copy from when I met Jana at RARE16 in Edinburgh last year, aka my very favourite day of my life. It's been some time since i read wrong and whilst i was off work after surgery I settled down to read the rest.

It took me a while to get in to Right. I'm just not all that good with stalker-esque women. I loved it by the end though and glad I stuck by it.

I loved Fling right off the bat a good little novella and a nice little go between, between Right and Trust. I'm normally not a novella lover (I like a meaty book) but this one tickled my pickle for sure.

Trust was definitely my favourite out of this series. I do believe i read this one in one day. I loved Chloe's ability to ruin a date. I may have stolen some of her jokes for my own personal use ;-)

Never The Bride (Dilbury Village #1) - Charlotte Fallowfield

Rachel and Michaela - *~* arc received in return for a honest and unbiased review *~*
We both love Charlotte so so so SOOOOOO very much!

I think we both have bookshelves that have their own CJ section. I (Rachel) am currently gearing up for this years reader events so I'm ordering books quite often for signing. Charlotte's All That Glisters came yesterday. Sigh....... books........so good.

From Charlotte Fallowfield, bestselling rom-com author, comes Never The Bride - A laugh out loud romantic comedy novel full of heart-warming friendships, romance, and quintessential British humour.

Never The Bride (Dilbury Village #1)

Abbie Carter felt doomed as she clutched her bouquet and started walking up the aisle. Again. She felt like she was stuck in some kind of Groundhog Day wedding nightmare. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Eight dresses, most of them hideous, were already stuffed in her attic space. She had more bridesmaid dresses than relationships. Was she really that unlucky in love? She despaired of ever finding her soul mate and was convinced that if she packed away dress thirteen in her attic, she’d never get to wear the coveted white one and have her happy ever after.

That was until she locked eyes with one of the handsome ushers, whose wink turned her elegant and well-practiced glide up the aisle into a flailing Bambi-on-ice spectacle. Miller Davis was the first man in forever to make her heart skip a beat, as well as her legs turn to jelly. And, for once, her interest in a man didn’t seem to be one-sided. It was just a shame that the Atlantic Ocean separated them. Abbie couldn’t even make a relationship with her elderly fat pooch, Sumo, work, so what chance did she have with a permanent New Yorker? Her best friend, Georgie, told her to ignore the miles that separated her from Miller and to go for it, saying that true love knew no bounds.

Michaela's Review

Where to start?? I absolutely loved until we collide and couldn't wait to get stuck into Never The Bride and squealed with excitement when I saw it had landed on my kindle. This had me laughing out loud. I could envision these comical situations in my head as if they were being played out right before my eyes and that's down to Charlotte's amazing writing technique. If your looking for a light hearted, funny, romantic read then look no further. This is for you.

Rachel's Review

Ahh Charlotte, Charlotte, Charlotte, what an amazing book! Extremely funny and a really good light hearted rom-com. I love Charlotte's books so much. Whether they're light and fluffy and make me spit out my cup of tea (toilet and a glass roof, that's all im saying!) or fast paced and erotic (see The Temptress and other naughty goodies in that series), shes certainly one of my top authors. I love Charlotte's ability to write real life stories. I never say 'well that wont happen in real life' when reading them. Thank you for another fantastic journey that im sure I'll read again soon.

Rachel's Review

What another lovely read from Brenda Margriet. I ended up reading this book when I was off sick from work and even though it didn't cure me I certainly got all the good feels from it.

I loved the journey I took with Abigail and I sent a message to my other half part way through the book to see if we could change the destination of our family holiday to the Azores, she made me love the Island so much.

A really enjoyable book with a lovely storyline.

Undercover - T.A. McKay

Michaela - I received an arc in return for a honest and unbiased review

Undercover

Drake Donovan is one of the good guys. He spends his life helping people who need it. Being a police officer is all he’s ever wanted to be, and there is nothing else that could ever compare.

After months of work he finally has a way in to the underground world he's been trying to close down. A trail of dead prostitutes has led him to a chat room and a man called Dreamfixer, but when a late night meeting goes wrong his life changes forever.

Ryden Garrick has the life that nightmares are made of. Growing up with a father like his taught him everything he needed to know to run his area in one of Britain’s largest crime organisations.
Guns, drugs, money laundering, and the area that Ryden excels in, prostitution. Running one of the largest male prostitution rings, one where anything is acceptable, even murder, is where he dedicates most of his time.

When Drake discovered the connection with the young dead bodies, all linked with a letter tattooed on their chest, he knew he had to do something. Now standing in front of the elusive Dreamfixer, he knows that life will never be the same.

When gathering evidence becomes the last thing he's thinking about he knows that he will have to make a decision. Follow his feelings or stay strong, doing what he was here to do.
Now he has to decide between the job he loves and the man who could change everything.

Life for Drake was easy before he went Undercover.

M/M romance. Not suitable for readers under 18 years of age due to language and sexual content. ***Please note*** This book contains scenes of murder, rape and abuse which some readers may find uncomfortable.

Michaela's Review

This review isn't going to give this the credit it deserves but im going to do my best. Let me start by saying T.A Mckay is one of my top authors who's work I one click without even reading her blurb. I love everything about her work from her writing style and story lines to the character build its all amazing. I've followed her work from the very beginning and have always been a huge fan. Her work never fails to amaze me and gets better and better with every book written. Now onto under cover. I fell in love with Drake from the very beginning. He seemed such a caring soul from the start but Ryden let's be honest I hated him to begin with. He was the sort of person you would under no circumstances be associated with. As the story progressed I found I loved Ryden just as much as Drake. I don't believe in writing spoiler reviews but if your new to T.A Mckay this is the one to read. If your looking for an amazing m/my book this is it! Even if your randomly looking for a book then this is it! You won't be disappointed.
